Fall clearance on leftover 2025 boats and side-by-sides — see the specials

Spring commissioning checklist for your boat

Ten things to check before the first launch of the season, from batteries and impellers to trailer bearings.

The first warm weekend is the worst time to discover a dead battery at the ramp. A little time in the driveway saves a lot of frustration on the water.

Batteries and electrical

Charge every battery fully and load-test it. Check the terminals for corrosion and make sure the bilge pump runs on its float switch, not just the dash switch.

Engine

Change the gear lube if you did not do it in the fall, and look for water in the old oil. Inspect the water-pump impeller if it is two seasons old or more. Fresh fuel and a new fuel-water separator filter are cheap insurance.

Trailer

Spin each wheel and listen to the bearings, check tire pressure including the spare, and test every light with the tow vehicle connected.

Our marine service department can do all of this for you before the spring rush. Book early, because April fills up fast.
